Background 

Verdant Bioscience is a plantation science company based in North Sumatra, established in 2013 with a vision to develop high yielding and quality of oil palm planting material through scientific innovation with cutting-edge technologies in agriculture, plant breeding, and biotechnology. Field trialling is the most important part of the scientific development to observe quality and quantity parameters, which results of the trial used as a guideline to justify the best planting material. To date, trials have been conducted in various locations in Indonesia with different characteristics of soil and environment.  

About the Role 

We are seeking a highly organised, numerate, and detail-oriented Trial Analyst to provide comprehensive administrative and scientific support to all trial programmes. The ideal candidate will play an important role in supporting trial programmes, managing tasks and documents, and have an educational background in agriculture or other experiences relevant to field trial or experimental/trial design.

Responsibilities  

• Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings. 
• Arrange travel, accommodations, and logistics for fieldwork. 
• Prepare and proof-read documents, reports, and presentations. Conduct literature reviews and compile relevant scientific articles and resources. 
• Assist in data collection, analysis, and interpretation. 
• Maintain organised digital and physical scientific files and databases. 
• Document control: Establish and maintain a centralized system for managing ISO 9001-related paperwork, including procedures, work instructions, forms, and records, ensuring version control and accessibility for relevant personnel. 
• Record keeping: Ensure accurate and organized documentation of all ISO 9001-related activities, including audits, corrective actions, non-conformities, and management reviews, facilitating traceability and compliance with certification requirements. 
• Coordinate with scientific functions, collaborators, and external partners as needed. 
• Conduct literature reviews and compile relevant scientific articles and resources. 
• Track KPI’s, project timelines, milestones, and deadlines. 
• Collaborate with other staff to facilitate teamwork and coordinate internal and external communications and meetings. 
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Maintain adherence to ethical standards and integrity. 

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Agricultural or Biology and other related fields. 
• Prior experience with field trial is desirable and understanding scientific methodology, especially experimental design, is desirable. 
• Good communication skills and have a good understanding of local people. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word and Excel). 
• Good in English, both oral and written, is highly advantageous. 
• Passionate about work and able to work individually or with team.
