Position: Sustainability Coordinator
Location: Villa Finder Bali Office, Bali, Indonesia
Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension), part-time or full-time

Job Description:

Villa Finder is seeking a passionate and dedicated Sustainability Coordinator to join our team in Bali. The primary goal of this role is to lead our sustainability efforts, particularly by working with our villa partners to help them achieve and maintain sustainability certifications such as Qalia and Sustonica.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sustainability Certification Guidance for Villa partners:
  • Collaborate with villa partners to understand and meet the criteria for sustainability certifications (eg. Qalia, Sustonica).
  • Conduct assessments and audits to evaluate villas’ current sustainability practices.
  • Provide recommendations and action plans to villa partners to meet certification requirements.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for villa staff on sustainable practices and standards.
  • Offer ongoing support and consultation to villa partners throughout the certification process.
• Villa Finder sustainability efforts:
  • Lead the implementation of carbon accounting at Villa Finder using Compare Your Footprint.
  • Coordinate our partnership with EnviroRental.
  • Create a Climate Action Plan for Villa Finder according to Tourism Declares Climate Emergency.
  • Research and propose new sustainability initiatives that Villa Finder can implement (eg. solar panels).
• Communication and Reporting:
  • Prepare reports on the progress of sustainability efforts and certification processes.
  • Share these reports with internal teams, villa partners, and Villa Finder guests to ensure alignment and transparency via newsletters, blog posts, and more.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in Hospitality Management, Sustainability, or a related field.
• Strong interest in sustainable tourism and environmental conservation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, proven entrepreneurial skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
• Proficiency in English (both written and spoken); Indonesian is a plus.
• Experience with sustainability certifications or audits is a plus but not required.
• Able to drive a scooter.
