Ready Resources (RR) provides solutions to large mining clients across the Pilbara Region and is currently seeking the best Mechanical Fitters for our Sugar Mill project.

About the role

Roles needed:
25 x Mechanical Fitters

Roster:
Monday-Friday 8 hour shifts

Location:
Townsville – QLD

Task and Duties:

• Perform scheduled and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant equipment (e.g. milling trains, crushers, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, and turbines).
• Install and commission new mechanical equipment and components.
• Conduct overhauls of critical equipment during off-season or shutdown periods.
• Interpret drawings and technical specifications to ensure accurate repairs and installations.
• Work with steam turbines and associated drive systems in the mill.
• Participate in shutdowns and seasonal plant preparations to ensure readiness for crushing operations.
• Report hazards and incidents, and contribute to a strong safety culture.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, faults, and work completed.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other maintenance personnel.

It will also be beneficial if you have:

• Trade qualifications (Certificate III and Certificate of Proficiency)
• Trade qualifications (Certificate III and Certificate of Proficiency)
• Heavy Industrial/Shutdown experience
• Proven exposure to working on a wide range of equipment, pumps, valves, pipelines, motors, gearboxes, boilers, and turbines
• Ability to fabricate small & large components
• Experience with pressure vessels preferred but not essential
• Ability to communicate in a clear and constructive manner, both verbally and in writing
• Organizational skills and ability to prioritise
• Commitment and good attitude to safety and culture

An ideal candidate will hold a :

• Confined Space certificate,  
• Valid Safe Working at Heights certificate,  
• Manual driver’s license
