MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Essential:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Music or any relevant degree in vocal and/or musical instruments.
• Minimum 5 years experience in tutoring / teaching music with specialisation in vocal and/or string instruments (violin).
• Strong knowledge in music theories and possess a valid certificate in vocal and/or violin.
• Advanced musical performance, orchestra, recordings experience and good reputation in the music industry.
• Strong ability to manage a team of specialist instrument tutors.
• Good written and verbal communication in English and strong interpersonal skills in order to effectively liaise with internal and external parties.
• Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office and Google Suite). 

Desirable:

• Experience in the education industry, particularly in an international school setting.
• Possess advanced capability in teaching both vocal and string instruments.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

This position’s duties and responsibilities, but are not exclusive to are as the following:

Instrumental & Vocal Tutoring

• Plan and prepare musical instrument teaching materials and lesson activities according to musical instrument and vocal curriculum and students learning needs.
• Deliver musical instrument lessons and extra rehearsal to students, evaluate student progress in order to meet student needs and according to the school’s curriculum.
• Participate in regular feedback sessions with faculty leaders and regular meetings with teachers to identify teaching activities or process improvement.
• Coordinate a team of specialist instrument tutors in delivery of the school’s musical instrument and vocal curriculum. 
• Coordinate specialist instrument tutor timetable development, update tutor with the latest syllabus, events and information.
• Recommend professional development course for specialist instrument tutors and vocal tutors.
• Prepare and present students for external examinations, school concerts and social occasions.
• Assess and evaluate student’s learning progress and provide updates to relevant parties as necessary.
• Participate in Performing Arts faculty events such as orchestra and lead after school activities and student enrichment.

Other General Professional Duties

• Actively promote and uphold all Safeguarding and Child Protection policies and responsible use of personal data in accordance with the relevant personal data protection policies and procedures within the school. 
• In liaison with the Line Managers, take responsibility for upholding Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) practice within your own working area and be responsible for completing risk assessments/near misses as appropriate.
• Undertake any other relevant duties as assigned by the Whole School Performing Arts Coordinator, the Faculty Leader of Arts, the Assistant Head or the Head of Secondary.
