About the Role

Fasten your helmet and climb on board if you’re ready to be our Backend Engineer. In this role, you will be an integral player in the Identity & Communication Platform team who appreciates good engineering and user experience. The person should be passionate about maintaining a clean and maintainable codebase. Your primary focus will be the development of all server-side logic, definition, and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements built by your coworkers into the application. A basic experience of front-end technologies is therefore necessary as well.

About the Team

The ICP team at Gojek is a small team of techies (and avid gamers) who are experts in their respective domains. This team is the backbone of the SuperApp ecosystem, managing the critical functions of identity management, chats, and communications. Each one of these engineering functions is represented by a small autonomous team of experienced backend & app engineers, product managers, designers, and analysts. 

The ICP team is currently working on challenging the status quo of identity management by pushing the boundaries of traditional methods, building the best in class chat product line through bulk emails and push notifications, which all Gojek users receive. At its core, this is a unique team that interfaces directly with the end-user while serving other product teams, thus providing an opportunity to do both iterative product building with end-users as well as well documented API first products. Our team constantly bounces ideas and opinions off of each other, learning and growing together along the way.

As Gojek grows into its journey beyond being the decacorn, the ICP team is uniquely placed to enable the organizational growth by providing functions that would help the organization build engineering and operational excellence at its core and is looking for engineers looking to challenge themselves in high growth, faced paced environment.

Though we work hard, we do know how to play hard, too. We take gaming seriously when it comes to our battles over Counterstrike and FIFA. And despite the WFH set up recently, we take our opportunities to catch up for a round of drinks.
