The role will oversee various aspects related to social responsibility, security measures, and licensing compliance. You will take a pivotal role in order to minimize the likelihood of disputes and effectively address any issues that arise regarding external relations, proactively engage with the local community, and prioritize environmental and social responsibility.

Client Details

Part of global brand in food and biotech manufacturing, one of the biggest in its commodity production. The Indonesian entity is based in East Java, and this position requires full time commitment in the area.

Description

• Develop and implement social responsibility strategies and initiatives that align with the company’s values and goals
• Ensure compliance with relevant labor laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Maintain the compliance of key licenses and permits, such as Business License (Izin Usaha), Industrial Business License (Izin Usaha Industri), Environmental Permit (Izin Lingkungan), Industrial Safety and Health Permit (Izin Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja), etc
• Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, including employees, local communities, and NGOs
• Environmental Impact & Community Relation – Addressing potential environmental impacts associated with the manufacturing process, such as waste management, air emissions, and water usage, to minimize adverse effects on the surrounding residents
• Engaging in open and transparent communication with the local community regarding the company’s operations, environmental initiatives, and mitigation measures to address concerns and build positive relations
• Engaging in community outreach programs, such as educational initiatives, employment opportunities, and skill development programs, to contribute positively to the local community and enhance social welfare
• Supporting local development projects or initiatives that benefit the surrounding residents
• Provide plans to handle disputes that may potentially arise, e.g. Environmental concerns related to waste disposal, air emissions, or water contamination, land use conflicts if there are disputes over property boundaries or encroachment, traffic-related issues due to increased transportation activities associated with the factory, to employment-related disputes or conflicts with local labor unions.

Profile

• Bachelor of Law/Industrial Engineering or Occupational Health and Safety or related studies
• Minimum of 8 years experience in social responsibility practices, security management, and licensing compliance, particularly within the context of manufacturing industry
• Previous experience in managing social responsibility programs, security protocols, and licensing compliance in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Familiarity with the regulatory landscape and licensing requirements specific to the jurisdiction in which the company operates, in East Java and greater area
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information, negotiate agreements, and build relationships with internal stakeholders, local communities, government agencies, and external partners
• Ability to articulate and promote the company’s social responsibility initiatives, security measures, and compliance efforts to both internal and external audiences
• Proven conflict resolution and the ability to navigate potential disputes or challenges
