We’re seeking an experienced Shipment Operations & Logistics Supervisor to oversee end-to-end shipping operations and manage the complexities of international freight forwarding, customs compliance, and client relations.

Role Summary:
As the Shipment Operations & Logistics Supervisor, you’ll manage our international shipping operations, working closely with internal teams, freight forwarders, 3PLs, and customs agencies to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely deliveries from China to the US and Europe. You’ll oversee shipment documentation, regulatory compliance, and vendor management, while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • International Freight Operations: Oversee shipment operations from China to the US and Europe, coordinating with freight forwarders, 3PL providers, and shipping agents to optimize routing, reduce costs, and ensure timely deliveries.
  • Client & Customer Support: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing technical support, gathering feedback, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction. Liaise with customers, internal teams, and 3PL partners to manage delivery expectations and requirements.
  • Customs & Compliance: Manage customs clearance for international shipments, including HS code applications, permit declarations, and adherence to import/export regulations. Ensure compliance with local regulations in each destination country, including the US and Europe.
  • Document Management: Prepare, process, and archive essential shipping documents, such as bills of lading (B/L), invoices, packing lists, insurance certificates, and customs forms (PIB, PEB, etc.).
  • Supplier & Vendor Management: Build strong relationships with vendors, negotiating favorable terms to secure reliable shipping rates, timelines, and quality service. Establish a network of agents and vendors in China and destination countries.
  • Team Supervision & Development: Lead and develop the operational team, setting goals, managing performance, and providing training in shipping documentation, customs procedures, and client relations.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track key metrics such as delivery times, costs, and service quality. Prepare regular reports on shipment performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to increase efficiency.
  • Problem-Solving & Issue Resolution: Address operational issues such as shipping delays, customs holds, and damaged shipments, providing proactive solutions to ensure smooth operations and maintain customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in logistics, shipment operations, or freight forwarding.. Experience with international freight, especially China to US and Europe, is preferred.
  • Education: Minimum D3/S1 degree in Transportation Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of international shipping, import/export regulations, and customs clearance procedures, with hands-on experience in managing ocean and air shipments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and logistics management systems, with experience handling documents such as PIB, B/L, LC, and HS codes.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia; Mandarin is a plus for managing supplier relations in China.
  • Regulatory & Agency Knowledge: Familiarity with Indonesian and international customs regulations, including those for the US and European markets.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong strategic thinking and organizational abilities to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and solve complex, time-sensitive issues.
