As the Legal SVP, you will play a critical role in providing legal guidance and support to our company. You will be responsible for managing all legal matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks associated with our operations. Description

1. Legal Compliance: Stay up to date with the laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to the peer-to-peer lending industry in Indonesia. Ensure that the company’s operations and practices comply with applicable laws and regulations.
2. Risk Mitigation: Identify and assess legal risks associated with the company’s activities. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks and protect the company’s interests.
3. Contract Management: Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including loan agreements, service agreements, partnership agreements, and vendor contracts. Ensure that these agreements are in line with legal requirements and company policies.
4. Regulatory Affairs: Engage with regulatory authorities, including the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and maintain a strong understanding of their requirements and expectations. Proactively manage regulatory relationships and address any compliance issues that may arise.
5. Intellectual Property: Oversee the protection and management of the company’s intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents. Take appropriate measures to safeguard the company’s intellectual property assets.
6. Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Manage legal disputes and litigation matters involving the company. Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed to effectively represent the company’s interests and seek favorable outcomes.
7. Corporate Governance: Provide guidance on corporate governance matters and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and corporate governance standards.
8. Compliance Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on legal and regulatory requirements, ethical conduct, and risk management practices.
9. Legal Research and Advice: Conduct legal research on emerging issues and provide timely and accurate legal advice to the executive team and relevant departments.

Profile

• Law degree from a reputable university; additional qualifications such as an LLM or equivalent will be an advantage.
• Admission to the Indonesian Bar Association and in good standing.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a reputable law firm or as in-house legal counsel, preferably in the financial services sector.
• Exposure in P2P Lending, E-Wallet/E-Money and licensing processes.
• Exposure in M&A and Capital Market strategic transactions.
• Strong knowledge of Indonesian financial services laws and regulations, particularly those related to peer-to-peer lending.
• Proven experience in handling complex legal matters, including contracts, intellectual property, compliance, and litigation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to provide practical, commercially-focused legal advice.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Indonesian.
