Chifeng Gold’s Lane Xang Minerals Limited Company (LXML) operates the Sepon Gold and Copper Operation, located in Vilabouly District, Savannakhet Province, Lao PDR. We are committed to the development of Laos through our production of cooper and gold, whilst striving for business excellence throughout the business. In 2024, our planned production is 6,200 kg of Gold and 5,305 tonnes of Copper.

In support of this growth, we are looking for Senior Superintendent – Community Relation & Development to join our team to deliver on our growth plans and be a part of this exciting future.

Reporting directly to the Vice General Manager – Corporate Social Responsibility, this role will be essential in developing, implementing, and managing CR’s work productivity and to support sepon projects in a efficient manner. This includes however not limited to  assisting with land access issues, grievance reconciliation, community engagement, and sustainable community developing projects (Trust Fund, FADSG, Local Community Business Development). Whilst delivering the best corporate social responsibility practices to the sepon host community and align with the goals of LXML. This role is sepon site based in Vilabouly District, however, travel to head office in Vientiane and in Savannakhet will be required as per the business need.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop Community Relation’s strategy, programs, best practices to meet company’s Objectives, Plan, Goal, and Growth.
• Administrate the Community Responses, Trust Fund, FADG, Community Business for Best Social License and Legacy.
• Manage and work with VIP Visitors, Company’s Functions on site extended to the draft of media for Public Release.
• Be the focal point person for all Sepon Corporate Departments able to deliver positive results at cost effective/ on time.
• Oversight of Corporate Community Relations/ Engagement and Dissemination of internal and external releases.
• Resolve regular/ tough, problematic issues at Sepon Project site in aligning with Lao legislations and internal Guideline.
• Administrating the Community Relations, Community Development ensuring that the company’s functions and activities comply with relevant legal and internal guidelines.
• Effective communication, collaboration with key departments, CR Monthly Report, and draft of Annual CR Report.
• Perform Best Social Responses, actions and do other assigned tasks at Best Community’s Participatory.
• Effectively and Productively Manage the Community Relations, the Community Development, and Savannakhet Office.
• Effectively Incorporate with Vientiane Senior Superintendent Govt. Relations.
• Report to Vice General Manager CSR.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Tertiary qualified Social Science discipline, bachelor’s degree and additional two years of professional experiences,
• Professional experiences in Community Relations-Duties (related to mining industry is preferable).
• Project Management, Operational Administration, Cost Effectiveness, Coordination for work well DONE.
• Relations Proficient language skills in Lao and English, Chinese is preferable.
• Excellent communication, integrate relationship building, competency in negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficient in project management and MS Office tools.
• Solid understanding of Community Relations, and Fruitful Sustainable Community Development Programs.
• Wider knowledges in Lao legislations, social-community development, Phu Tai’s & Brou’s traditions/ cultures.
• Willing to learn, respect, adopt and committing Zero interference to local ethnic lifestyles.
• Prior experience in the mining industry is preferred.
