Role Summary

Sr. Test Engineer is accountable to Test Lead and the core responsibility is to prepares and execute functional testing. Test Phases execution would include System Test, Systems Integration Testing, and User Acceptance Testing support.

Detailed Activities

• The role will be responsible for understanding the functional requirements with the assistance from BA and test lead and raise clarifications and further document the understanding.
• Analyze the business requirement document & assist in preparation of test traceability matrix.
• Review of clarifications raised and follow up with respective stakeholders for clearance.
• The role will include preparation of functions & test scenarios.
• The role will be responsible for creation of test conditions and scripts in the preparation phase and rework/incorporate any review comments received on the same.
• Mapping of test cases to conditions to scenarios.
• Priority and severity mapping of the test conditions and test cases.
• The role will be responsible for creation of data requirements and rework/ incorporate any review comments.
• The role would be responsible for execution of test scripts, raising defects, and maintaining related artefacts and record results.
• Assist test lead in defect triage.
• The role will ensure usage of right test data for the right test environments and scenarios with complete coverage.
• The role would be responsible in adhering to test process and methodologies proposed and followed.
• The role will proactively take on additional tasks as requested by the Test Lead.
• The role will proactively involve in gaining knowledge in new test processes, methodologies and tools and domain.
• The role will also be involved in knowledge sharing sessions for inter/ intra test teams.
• Maintainance of project folders and deliverables
• Assists in preparing analytics on the test planning , test execution progress as part of reporting.
• Assists in daily execution progress
• Ensures meeting of productivity for self and assists team.
• Should be able to groom, train, guide and monitor junior resources.
• Assists in documentation of learning from projects
• Reports to Test Lead
