Senior-level role responsible for leading and overseeing the sales activities and business development efforts within an asset management firm. Description

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy and business development plan for the asset management firm. Set clear revenue targets and objectives for the sales team to achieve.
  • Lead the efforts to identify and acquire new clients, including institutional investors, high-net-worth individuals, and other potential customers. Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to enhance customer retention and foster long-term partnerships. Understand clients’ investment needs and objectives to offer suitable asset management solutions.
  • Manage and lead a team of sales professionals. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to enhance their skills and performance. Set clear sales goals and monitor team progress.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to effectively promote the asset management firm’s investment products and services. Participate in marketing events, conferences, and client seminars.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments. Utilize market insights to identify potential opportunities and threats to the asset management business.
  • Provide regular sales reports, performance updates, and forecasts to senior management. Analyze sales data and key performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies.
  • Ensure that all sales activities and client interactions comply with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Lead negotiations with prospective clients and secure investment mandates. Work closely with legal and compliance teams to finalize contracts and agreements.
  • Foster a culture of excellent client service within the sales team. Ensure prompt and professional responses to client inquiries and concerns.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience (typically 3+ years) in sales and business development in the asset management industry.
  • Proven track record of success in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of investment products, asset classes, and financial markets.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a sales team effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess market trends and client needs.
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the asset management sector.
  • Strong networking skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and industry peers.
