Our client is the second-largest mineral mining company in Indonesia.

Responsibilities:

Senior Manager of Mining Operations is responsible for the overall management and leadership of the mining operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable extraction of copper and gold while meeting all regulatory and environmental requirements. The purpose of this position is to plan and implement long-term strategies for the mine to ensure its continued viability and profitability.

Health, Safety, Environment, Community, and Quality

  1. Comply with all pertaining environmental laws and regulations in Indonesia.
  2. Comply with all laws and regulations applicable in Indonesia on Occupational Health, Safety and Mine as well as those required under the Regulation of the Ministry of Mines and Energy No. 26 of 2018 and Decree of Ministry of Mines and Energy No. 1827K/30/MEM/2018.
  3. Comply with all SHLP, Environment and Social Responsibility requirements under company’s Management System, company’s vision, mission, and values.
  4. Provide required resources to ensure the compliance of all environmental laws and regulations and environmental management and protection permits, implementation of all environmental policies and procedures.
  5. Drive sustainable environmental performance improvement.
  6. Ensure proper implementation of company’s Environmental Management System [EMS].
  7. Accept personal responsibility for the health and safety of every worker under or assigned to his/her supervision.
  8. Carry out regular inspection, safety meetings to address mine safety.
  9. Accept personal responsibility for the health and safety of every worker assigned to his/her supervision.
  10. Prepare and sign off inspection reports.
  11. Report on every hazard accidents and incidents.
  12. Provide required resources to achieve the compliance of mine operation safety laws and regulations.
  13. Drive sustainable mine safety performance improvement.
  14. Ensure the implementation of company’s Safety Management System.
  15. Develop company’s regulation on implementation of best mining practices.
  16. Assign technical and operational inspectors.
  17. Approve PJO (Penanggungjawab Operasional) Mitra Bisnis.
  18. Assess the performance of PJO (Penanggungjawab Operasional) Mitra Bisnis.
  19. Ensure all mine services companies operating under his responsibility comply with their obligations as required by the applicable laws and regulations.
  20. Implement standards as per applicable regulations.
  21. Submit report on performance of mine services companies to KaIT as per applicable regulations.
  22. Have qualified, competent mine technical staff as required by applicable regulations.
  23. Implement risk management in every business process and sub-process of mine operation activity.
  24. Implement mine safety management system and supervise the implementation of mine safety management performed by mine services companies operating under his responsibility.
  25. Report the implementation of best mining practices to KaIT: regular, final, and/or special report in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  26. Report the implementation of environmental management and monitoring on a regular basis as per the approved format.
  27. Report the amount of procurement, use, storage and supply of B3 materials and wastes bi-annually.
  28. Report any potential environmental degradation and/or pollution.
  29. Report any environmental cases by no later than 1 x 24 hours upon incident occurrence including control measures performed.
  30. Provide notification in the first place and report any accident, hazardous incident, occupational-related incident, or occupational illness.
  31. Submit a report regarding the performance of internal audits on the implementation of minerals and coal mine safety management systems.
  32. Establish standards for environmental degradation and/or pollution control measures in certain areas potentially creating environmental degradation and pollution.
  33. Establish standards for the implementation of best mining practices.
  34. Perform minerals and coal resource conservation.
  35. KTT establishes standards on technical management of minerals and coal mine operations.

Production/Technical/Projects

  1. Planning and implementing long-term strategies for the mine to ensure its continued viability and profitability.
  2. Managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for the operation of the mine.
  3. Conducting regular performance evaluations and making recommendations for improving the performance of the mine and its personnel.
  4. Ensuring that all personnel receive appropriate training and that all training is kept up to date.
  5. Managing relationships with key stakeholders such as government officials, community leaders, and suppliers.
  6. Developing and implementing risk management strategies to minimize risks associated with mining operations.
  7. Overseeing the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  8. Leading efforts to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity of mining operations.
  9. Representing the company at industry events, conferences, and other public forums.
  10. Conducting regular financial analysis to ensure that the mine is operating within budget and meeting financial targets.
  11. Developing and maintaining effective communication channels with all stakeholders to ensure that issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner.
  12. Overseeing the implementation of environmental and sustainability programs to minimize the impact of mining operations on the environment.
  13. Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  14. Participating in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures related to mining operations.
  15. Building and maintaining strong relationships with employees, suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders to ensure the long-term success of the mine.
  16. Other duties as assigned.

Budget & Cost

  1. Undertake negotiation for budgets and financial plans with relevant groups and individuals in ways that build commitment to the plans.
  2. Review cost management issues and identify improvements.
  3. Manage Departments Budget, identify issues, and propose improvements.
  4. Continuous Improvement
  5. Establishes Strategies to monitor and evaluate performance of key systems and processes.
  6. Develop strategies to ensure that team members are actively encouraged and supported to participate in decision making processes, and to assume responsibility and exercise initiative as appropriate.

  1. Develop strategies to ensure that workplace learning opportunities are used and that team members are encouraged to share their skills and knowledge to encourage a learning culture within the team.
  2. Develop strategies to ensure that team and individual learning performance is monitored to determine the type and extent of any additional work-based support required, and any occupational health and safety (OHS) issues.

  1. Creates and continuously evaluates communication tools and processes throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s or masters degree in mining engineering or related field.
  2. Have senior level operational inspector certificate (POU) or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of position.
  3. 15+ years of relevant experience in mining operations, including management experience in a large-scale copper-gold mining company
  4. Experience in managing and leading a team of professionals
  5. Experience in managing relationships with key stakeholders such as government officials, community leaders, and suppliers.
  6. Experience in developing and implementing risk management strategies and environmental management plans
  7. Proven track record of successfully achieving production targets and managing budgets.
  8. Comprehensive knowledge of mining operations, including exploration, development, production, and processing.
  9. Thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards.
  10. Knowledge of mining industry trends, developments, and best practices.
  11. Knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  12. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  13. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  14. Strong analytical and financial skills.
  15. Strong project management skills.
  16. Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
