You will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and monitoring potential risks associated with market fluctuations, financial instruments, and investment portfolios.

Description

• Develop and implement comprehensive market risk management strategies, policies, and procedures to mitigate potential risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and assess market conditions, identify emerging risks, and proactively recommend risk mitigation strategies to senior management.
• Perform risk analysis, stress testing, and scenario analysis to evaluate the potential impact of market events on the bank’s portfolio and overall financial health.
• Establish risk limits and risk tolerance levels for various asset classes, ensuring they align with the bank’s risk appetite and regulatory guidelines.
• Collaborate with other risk management functions, such as credit risk and operational risk, to ensure a holistic approach to risk management across the organisation.
• Prepare and present market risk reports to senior management and risk committees, providing a clear and concise analysis of risk exposures, trends, and performance metrics.

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, CFA) is highly desirable.
• Extensive experience in market risk management within the banking industry, with a focus on financial instruments, trading activities, and investment portfolios.
• Strong knowledge of market risk measurements techniques, such as Value at Risk (VaR), stress testing, scenario analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, statistical analysis, and risk management tools and software.
• In-depth understanding of financial markets, including products, trading strategies, and regulatory frameworks.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex information, identify trends, and make sound decisions.
