About Good Forest Indonesia
Good Forest Indonesia Foundation (GFI) was officially established on May 12, 2023. However, its dedicated team has been leading reforestation and agroforestry initiatives in Central Kalimantan since 2014, previously operating under Fairventures Worldwide, a non-profit organization based in Stuttgart, Germany. After a decade of impactful operations in Indonesia, Fairventures transitioned full responsibility to the local Indonesian team, enabling GFI to operate independently. Today, GFI continues as the official implementing partner of Fairventures Worldwide.

GFI is committed to restoring ecosystems and empowering local communities through sustainable agroforestry practices. Our team collaborates closely with smallholder farmers to rehabilitate degraded landscapes and improve local livelihoods. Currently, GFI operates in the Gunung Mas, Katingan, Barito Timur, and Pulang Pisau regencies in Central Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. We are seeking an Sr. Finance Officer based in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan.

The Senior Finance Officer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management and administration within Good Forest Indonesia (GFI). This role requires strong financial expertise, strategic leadership in financial and administrative functions, and proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software. The Senior Finance Officer will provide sound financial advice, ensure effective fund management, and work closely with other departments to support HR, logistics, and procurement activities in alignment with GFI’s objectives and policies.

Job/Role Purpose :
The senior Finance Officer (SFO) at Good Forest Indonesia (GFI) is responsible for overseeing and managing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with GFI’s policies and procedures, and supporting the organization’s mission of sustainable forest management and community empowerment. The SFO will work closely with the Finance and Administration Manager to maintain financial integrity and transparency.

• Duties and responsibilities
  Financial Management Support: Assist the Finance and Administration Manager in overseeing GFI’s financial operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and donor requirements.
  Financial Systems Implementation and Compliance: Lead the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, providing training and guidance to staff to ensure adherence to GFI’s Financial Management Manual (FMM).​
  Transactional and Reporting Support: Support the financial aspects of GFI’s programs, including data entry, transaction processing, and financial reporting using QuickBooks or other accounting software.
  Financial Systems Implementation and Compliance: Lead the implementation and maintenance of financial systems, providing training and guidance to staff to ensure adherence to GFI’s Financial Management Manual (FMM).​
  Transactional and Reporting Support: Support the financial aspects of GFI’s programs, including data entry, transaction processing, and financial reporting using QuickBooks or other accounting software.
  Statutory Compliance: Ensure timely processing and payment of all statutory deductions and contributions.​
  Bank Reconciliation: Prepare monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.​
  Audit Preparation: Assist in preparing for financial audits, providing necessary documentation and support to auditors.​
  Asset Management Collaboration: Work with logistics and administration staff to ensure proper management and safeguarding of GFI’s assets, adhering to financial standards

Experience
1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, within a nonprofit organization.​
2. Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with donor regulations.​
3. Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is essential.

Required Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; professional accounting qualification is a plus.​
2. Strong understanding of financial management principles, donor compliance requirements, and nonprofit financial operations.​
3. Passion for environmental conservation and community development, aligning with GFI’s mission.​
4. High level of numeracy with meticulous attention to detail
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.​
6. Fluent in both written and spoken English and Indonesian.​
7. Experience in managing subgrants and familiarity with donor rules and regulations is advantageous.​
8. Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.​
9. Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills, with a flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving.
10. Willingness to travel to project areas
