As the Senior Database Engineer, you will take charge over all database system activities: from planning, installing, and configuring, among other things. Data is the new oil. Managing it at scale with security in mind is extremely critical for our business.  We are a PCI/DSS compliant company with a strong process in place. As a part of the team, you will be responsible for reliability and security of our data. 

What You Will Do

• Managing optimal installation and configuration of RDBMS and NoSQL databases like Percona Xtradb Cluster, MySQL, Postgres, Mongodb, and ProxySQL.
• Assisting in hardware capacity planning as well as re-sizing.
• Contributing to database sharding, clustering solutions, day to day database migrations, performance optimization, tuning, and Database troubleshooting.
• Provide assistance in building web-scale systems using Linux, Percona, and MySQL for more responsive and successful execution
• Help realize long term vision of building automation for self-service solution for various kind of database operational needs.

What You Will Need

• Should have 2 years of experience in RDBMS and NoSQL databases such as Percona Xtradb Cluster, MySQL, Postgres, and MongoDB on Linux Platform.
• Strong knowledge of database internals (Innodb, Replication, Transactions, etc.)
• Expertise in database security – database firewall, transaction audit, and secured data operations.
• Good knowledge of disaster recovery principles and practices, including good planning will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of database troubleshooting and performance optimization and tuning.
• Experience in database upgrades and migration – seamless upgrades and migration of database infrastructure with zero downtime.

Our GoMerchant engineering team oversees all-things product-engineering and works to create an ecosystem of solutions to help our Gojek merchants better manage and grow their business (we now have 500,000 merchants for GoFood alone!). We have different flavors of databases with different HA topologies , Active/Active, Active/Passive, Distributed/Shards. New problems, new challenges with varying scale? It never gets monotonous here. We will keep you busy with new challenges and problems.
