Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing invoice and payment processing, month-end and year-end close activities, and contributing to process improvement initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with internal controls, and supporting audit processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Invoice and Payment Processing:

  • Receive, review, and verify invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Code and enter invoices into the accounting system.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices and reconcile payable transactions and statements.
  • Maintain and update vendor records.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding payment issues, discrepancies, and inquiries.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve vendor disputes.

2. Month-End and Year-End Close:

  • Participate in the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all month-end and year-end accounting tasks.
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts and sub-ledgers.
  • Support the preparation of audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries during internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.

3. Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in accounting operations.
  • Participate in system upgrades and the integration of new accounting software.
  • Assist with the development and documentation of accounts payable procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable, general ledger reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
