Position Overview: As a Senior Accountant at One Life Adventures, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the company’s financial operations. You will ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial reporting and analysis, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles, particularly in the context of the tourism industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards and regulations.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Monitor and report on budget variances and provide recommendations for cost control and financial improvements.
Accounting Operations: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance. Ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures, and address any compliance issues.
Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to support business decisions. Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accountants and finance staff. Provide training and guidance to ensure high performance and professional development.
System Improvement: Evaluate and recommend enhancements to accounting systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with management, auditors, and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CA qualification is highly desirable.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory role. Experience in the tourism or hospitality industry is a significant advantage.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards and regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
