Wolkk is seeking a full time SecOps Engineer . It’s a contract employment and you will be working on a project for our client, a Software House company based in Europe. Security Operations Engineer (SecOps Engineer) role is intended for building and enhancing cyber and information security operations programs. Responsibility is based on implementing, maintaining, and improving venture’s security measures. This includes designing and deploying cloud and/or on-premises security solutions, monitoring security events and alerts, responding to incidents, and continuously improving security processes and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Take the lead in developing and advancing the organization’s cybersecurity operations program.
• Collaborate closely with security architects to ensure that security operations align effectively with the overarching security strategy.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive set of security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Design, deploy, and manage both cloud and on-premises security solutions, ensuring they adhere to industry best practices and standards.
• Implement and configure key security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
• Oversee the monitoring of security events and alerts from diverse security systems.
• Analyze security events and investigate anomalies to identify potential threats.
• Implement advanced log management and analysis tools to enhance the organization’s security monitoring capabilities.
• Develop and maintain a robust incident response plan and guide incident response activities.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to efficiently contain, mitigate, and recover from security incidents.
• Lead thorough investigations of security breaches and produce comprehensive incident reports.
• Manage vulnerability assessment and penetration testing activities, identifying and prioritizing vulnerabilities while working closely with teams to remediate and patch systems.

• Continuously monitor for emerging threats and vulnerabilities in the cybersecurity landscape.
• Identify and exploit opportunities to automate security operations tasks, enhancing operational efficiency.
• Implement security orchestration and automation tools to streamline incident response and remediation processes.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance security processes and procedures to optimize the organization’s security posture.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to pinpoint and rectify security gaps and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and deliver security training and awareness programs to educate employees on security best practices.
• Ensure security policies and procedures are communicated and understood throughout the organization.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Prepare and maintain security reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working in a security operations role.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, infrastructure, and security principles.
• Strong documentation skills to prepare incident reports, security policies, and procedural guidelines..
• Ability to use scripting and automation tools such as Bash, Python, Ansible, Puppet, and Terraform to automate the deployment and management of infrastructure and applications.
• Hands on experience of Kubernetes, Linux architecture and the Azure ecosystem.
• Strong understanding of Linux OS security and hardening (CIS benchmarks)
• Understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile and DevOps.
• Understanding of AWS security, CI/CD concepts, including version control, testing, and deployment automation.
• Hands on experience of Linux network security, IDS, IPS, or SIEM.
• Hands on experience of configuration of firewalls at the OS level (iptables, nftables)
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and penetration testing methodologies.
• Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP),
• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and so on are an advantage.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements, cybersecurity standards such as ISO 2700, NIST, FIPS, CIS, OWASP, and PCI DSS, as well as industry best practices and how to implement the necessary controls to meet those requirements.
• A proactive attitude towards staying updated with the latest security trends, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
• International background/experience preferred.
