Practice Area Profile
What You’ll Do
As a *Risk Expert Project Leader*, you will be a core member of BCG’s Risk & Compliance Practice Area working alongside some of the top minds in the industry. You will also significantly contribute to business development, risk and compliance intellectual capital creation, and team building. You will work hand in hand with the decision makers of our clients, with a real seat at the table, and building long-term relationships.
*The role:*
* Execute risk and compliance management projects, mainly within in banking, but also potentially within insurance and other industries
* Define and implement comprehensive risk and compliance governance frameworks, and use them to assess client practices
* Develop risk and compliance management processes and models aligned with regulatory constraints
* Monitor and analyse regulatory requirements, their evolutions and their operational implementation
* Work jointly with BCG and client project teams, bringing expertise to the team and to the client on site
* Actively support our business development efforts: intellectual capital development, client meetings, industry conferences
In addition to your core focus on risk and compliance management, you might also participate in projects related to other Financial Industry topics such as support function organization, modelling, etc.
The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG’s most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG’s thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the ‘best of BCG’ to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.
What You’ll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)
* 6+ years of work experience in underwriting, risk management, compliance, modelling, trading or finance functions in a leading banking institution and/or consulting firm
* Candidates with significant year of relevant experience may be considered at the Associate Director level
* Strong academics from a top-tier institution
* Advanced knowledge of banking risks (market, credit, liquidity, operational risks) and/or banking regulations (Basel 4, TRIM, DF/CCAR …) and/or compliance
* Analytical and structured thought process with excellent problem solving skills
* Excellent communication and persuasion skills to interact with presence at senior levels and influence key stakeholders
* Superior business sense and good ability to work beyond core Risk management topic
* Driven self-starter, hard-working, entrepreneurial, proactive and productive
* Flexible, curious and creative, open for new things and able to propose innovative ideas
