The Company’s modern plant situated at Purwakarta in West Java, commenced commercial production in 1986 with a modest capacity of 16.500 tpa. through strategic investments in expansion over the years, today it has an installed capacity of over 200.000 tpa and has become the world’s second largest manufacturer of VSF at a single location. The unit manufactures VSF for both textile and non-woven purposes.

The company produces a wide range of VSF in engineered specifications for textile and non-woven applications.

Today, our client not only enjoys a dominant share of the domestic market but also caters to a whole gamut of customers in the US, Europe, Turkey, Japan, Korea, China, Morocco, Philippines, Malaysia and other global locations in textile and non-woven segments.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Raw Material Section Head to join our client’s team in Purwakarta, West Java.

Job Context & Major Challenges:

It has mandated that service functions to be the driver of business process to exhibit its commitment for customer satisfaction by offering world class service levels. 

Stores function is important for sustained and consistent production operations. Our client  is a flagship manufacturing base in VSF business having a mix of world class technology and is located in prime market of South East Asia resulting in bigger expectations from management to achieve and sustain benchmarking on each stage by the plant.

Challenge is to efficiently plan, control and monitor Raw Materials and Packing Materials Inventory. It requires continues monitoring on inventory levels of materials, fulfil unplanned material requirement, robust planning of major inputs to facilitate uninterrupted Plant operations 24Hrs 365Days.

On time in full Delivery of Material

Vendor development for creating competition, achieving better price and quality

Maintaining Optimum Inventory levels across Raw Material and Packing Material

Procurement:

Procure Raw Material such as Wood Pulp, Coal, Caustic, Sulphur Molten/Granule, Sulphuric Acid, Zinc, Diesel Oil, Salt NACL, Lime, Sodium Hypo, HCL, PAC, Hypo, Urea, DAP,

Import Chemicals, Water Treatment chemicals, Packing Bags and straps at
right cost & at right time for smooth operation of the Plant.

Supporting Action :

Plan, analyze and monitor requirement of Raw Material
such as Wood Pulp, Coal, Caustic, Sulphur Molten/Granule, Sulphuric Acid, Zinc, Diesel Oil, Salt NACL, Lime, Sodium Hypo, HCL, PAC, Hypo, Urea, DAP,
Import Chemicals, Water Treatment chemicals, Packing Bags and straps
Timely preparation of RFQ, Comparative Quotation analysis, cost sheet, Negotiation, evaluation and assessment of potential suppliers, Decision making,
Finalization of approval note/Rate contract/Purchase orders as per delegation manual.
Follow up for timely delivery, payment, Quality issues, rejection, returns, shortage/excess etc.
Continuous improvement/optimization of Raw Material and Packing Material
Vendor development for better price and quality
Vendor Performance Evaluation and annual Vendor
Satisfaction Survey for feedback and improvements.

Implement Transport Safety requirement in all the incoming raw material (Vehicle, Driver, Transporter).
Plan and Monitor workplace health and safety requirement are met with the standard.
Promote and Monitor safety standards and take proactive action to create
Promote positive safety culture through regular tool box talk.
Identify, evaluate and remove safety observations which are pointed out during safety rounds.
Maintain 5S to achieve operational excellence
Implement work procedures and standards to execute the task as per process to build robust safety culture.
