Job Responsibilities

1. Oversee Daily Production Operations

• Supervise daily manufacturing operations, ensuring that production goals and schedules are met.
• Monitor production lines, check the status of production schedules, and allocate tasks to team members effectively.
• Ensure that the workforce adheres to established procedures, safety guidelines, and best practices.

2. Monitor Quality Control and Compliance

• Work closely with the Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) teams to ensure that production processes are carried out according to relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC 60076, IEEE).
• Conduct or assist in the inspection of transformers during various stages of production to ensure product quality.
• Ensure that proper tests (e.g., insulation resistance, temperature rise, short-circuit tests) are carried out and results are documented.

3. Resource Management

• Oversee the allocation of resources, including materials, tools, and human resources, to ensure smooth production operations.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure that the production team has sufficient raw materials (copper, steel, insulation, etc.) without overstocking.
• Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of required materials.

4. Production Planning and Scheduling

• Develop and implement production plans, ensuring that timelines are met and that products are delivered to clients on time.
• Coordinate with the planning department to align production schedules with customer demands, adjusting schedules if necessary.
• Adjust and reallocate resources in response to any production delays, staffing shortages, or equipment malfunctions.

5. Supervise Staff and Manage Team Performance

• Lead and supervise the production team, including technicians, assembly workers, and machine operators.
• Provide training, guidance, and support to production staff on transformer assembly processes, safety standards, and troubleshooting.
• Motivate team members, address performance issues, and foster a productive, cooperative environment.
• Monitor the performance of the team and provide feedback to improve efficiency, product quality, and safety adherence.

6. Ensure Health and Safety Compliance

• Ensure that all workers comply with safety regulations, using proper protective equipment and following safe working procedures.
• Conduct safety audits and provide training on safety protocols, ensuring a zero-accident culture on the shop floor.
• Respond to safety incidents or accidents, investigating root causes, and implementing corrective measures.

7. Troubleshoot and Resolve Production Issues

• Identify and troubleshoot production issues such as equipment malfunctions, material shortages, or delays.
• Work with maintenance and technical teams to resolve issues promptly to avoid production downtime.
• Provide input for continuous improvement in production methods and troubleshooting processes.

8. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of production activities, including schedules, test results, inventory levels, and any issues or delays encountered.
• Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production status, quality control, and any significant incidents.
• Ensure that all production reports and documents are stored properly for traceability and compliance purposes.

9. Coordinate with Other Departments

• Communicate with engineering, design, quality control, logistics, and maintenance teams to ensure that production processes align with overall goals.
• Support the Engineering and Design teams with feedback from the production floor to improve product designs or manufacturing methods.
• Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure the timely availability of materials and components for uninterrupted production.

Job Requirements

1. Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Additional certifications in Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001), Safety Management, or Lean Manufacturing can be beneficial.

2. Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a production supervisory role, preferably in transformer manufacturing or a related electrical equipment production industry.
• Experience in managing teams in a manufacturing environment and leading teams to meet production goals and safety standards.
• Experience in power transformer production processes, including the assembly, testing, and inspection stages.

3. Technical Skills

• Understanding of Transformer Manufacturing: Knowledge of the processes involved in transformer production, such as winding, core assembly, tanking, insulation, oil filling, and testing.
• Machine Operation and Troubleshooting: Ability to understand and troubleshoot transformer manufacturing machinery and equipment, including winding machines, core assembly equipment, and testing rigs.
• Quality Control: Understanding of testing protocols for transformers (e.g., dielectric strength, short-circuit tests, load loss tests) and the ability to ensure product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Production Planning and Scheduling Software: Experience with production scheduling software (ERP systems) to plan and monitor production timelines, resources, and inventory.

4. Leadership and Management Skills

• Team Leadership: Strong leadership abilities to manage, motivate, and develop a team, ensuring that all workers are meeting production goals while adhering to safety and quality standards.
• Conflict Resolution: Ability to address and resolve conflicts within the team or with other departments, maintaining a productive and harmonious work environment.
• Decision-Making: Strong decision-making skills to handle production issues effectively and quickly, minimizing downtime.

5. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills

• Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing problems, identifying the root cause of issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Analytical mindset to review production data, identify trends, and make recommendations for process improvement.

6. Communication Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with production teams, management, and other departments.
• Ability to prepare reports and present production status or issues to senior management in a clear and concise manner.

7. Safety and Regulatory Knowledge

• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and environmental compliance related to transformer manufacturing.
• Ability to enforce safety protocols and ensure the team follows all safety guidelines while working on the production floor.
