General Summary:

The Production Supervisor position encompasses the staffing, supervision, direction, training and evaluation of all the production lines. Directs and controls multiple production operations and high performance production work teams, all production lines and all buildings while on shift. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

• Safely insures all phases of manufacturing are being performed efficiently and effectively.
• Identifies and solves any issues or problems with equipment or personnel.
• Recommends and drives formula improvements, equipment and engineering revisions.
• Maintains open lines of communication with sales, marketing, scheduling, quality/lab, maintenance, and warehouse support groups to ensure production schedules are met.
• Coordinates and administer all aspects of training for new hires as well as long term associates.
• Complies with and enforce all company policies and procedures, providing feedback in a professional manner.
• Consistent and maximum throughput while maintaining acceptable quality control.
• Efficient use of manpower by effective planning of vacation schedules and arranging the required manpower coverage when necessary.
• Product loss and scrap production are kept to a minimum.
• Administers performance appraisals of production associates.
• Establishes, communicates and provides timely feedback to assigned workforce on objectives, goals and expectations.
• Complete and accurate information is entered into SAP in a timely manner.
• Production supply inventories are maintained and notification of the appropriate purchasing associates when items need to be re-stocked.
• Reviews and maintains correct information in E-Time for proper allocation of production team members’ hours.
• Performance issues (positive and negative) are reported and handled in accordance with the company policy by partnering with department manager and human resources.
• Coordinates with other Production Supervisors to provide seamless shift turnover and manpower coverage as well as sharing best practices.
• Coordinates with other Production Supervisors to ensure 24/7 coverage of both sites.
• Plant production area housekeeping is maintained in accordance with housekeeping guidelines.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
