Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development:

• Design and model wooden toys using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent 3D CAD software.

• Create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacturing and prototyping.

• Develop innovative, child-safe, and age-appropriate toy concepts.

• Collaborate with the design team to translate sketches or conceptual designs into production-ready models.

Prototyping & Testing:

• Work with prototyping teams to build physical models for testing.

• Perform tolerance analysis and fit checks on all components.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards (e.g., ASTM F963, EN71) for children’s products.

Manufacturing Support:

• Develop and document Bill of Materials (BOMs), assembly instructions, and technical specifications.

• Coordinate with production teams to ensure manufacturability, material selection, and tooling feasibility.

• Optimize designs for cost, production efficiency, and sustainability.

Project Management:

• Maintain and track development timelines for multiple products.

• Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations.

• Coordinate with vendors or suppliers regarding components and production processes.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in product engineering or design, preferably in wood or toy manufacturing.

Technical Skills:

• Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or other 3D CAD software.

• Familiarity with CAM software and CNC processes is a plus.

• Knowledge of woodworking, joinery, and surface finishes.

• Understanding of toy safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

• Creative thinking with attention to child development and user experience.

• Experience in sustainable or eco-friendly product design.

• Hands-on experience in prototype workshops or woodworking.

• Familiarity with 3D printing and rapid prototyping tools.
