Purpose and Scope

This role will support the procurement and sourcing activities performed for Indonesia market, in PT Sembcorp Energy Indonesia including contract management.

Generally, the scopes include sourcing and purchasing goods, materials, and services to ensure that the company’s operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and delivery to ensure continuity of supply. In addition, performance management through analysis, review, and preparation of periodic performance reports is required.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Source and purchase goods, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
• Primary focus will be on Source to Contract portion of the procurement process for EPC, and associated equipment /components. 
• Preparation of key macro and micro assumptions for input into the project financial model for budgeting process.
• Following and enforcing Sembcorp’s procurement policies and procedures, support the functions and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operations
• Following and enforcing strategic sourcing, contracting performance and objectives.
• Act as an interface between suppliers and internal stakeholders on procurement processes for new projects and activities
• Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization
• Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers
• Provide analysis on costs for new and existing suppliers, and review cost reduction activities
• Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers
• Review opportunities to create business savings via negotiation and procurement best practices
• Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships on behalf of the organization.
• Prepare cost analyses, and reports.
• Manage performance of suppliers and monitor actual expenditure against the original budget.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field with minimally 8 years of sourcing/procurement experience, with a focus on strategic sourcing
• Experience in negotiating of vendor contracts including EPC contracts, supply agreements and long-term service agreements.
• Experience in contracts management
• Relevant experience in utilities and renewables industry is preferred.
• Proficient in both Mandarin (communicating with Chinese Vendors is required), English and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills with ability to work as a team and work well independently.
• Able to manage time effectively
•  Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situations in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to source for alternative categorial and non-categorial materials/equipment independently
• Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem-solving abilities
