PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali Investasi (“PJBI” or the “Company”) has the task of serving as the vehicle for PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (“PJB”) and PT PLN (Persero) (“PLN”) to develop through electricity sector investment to meet Indonesia’s electricity demands. PJBI’s current business activities are focusing on power plant development under the Independent Power Producer (IPP) scheme, which is a part of the Indonesian Government’s electricity development acceleration program. In 2021, PJBI focused on the implementation of 4 IPP development projects: Coal-Fired Power Plant (CFPP) of Jawa-7 and Mine Mouth Sumbagsel-1, Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) of Batang Toru, as well as Floating Solar PV Power Plant (SPVPP) of Cirata. the Company has also started the initiatives of nonassignment projects through discussions with strategic investors to see the potential for business development and the signing of cooperation through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

In addition, PJBI also focuses on efforts to Moving Towards Financial Independence through a number of strategic initiatives to develop the New and Renewable Energy (NRE) business. Competency development as an Investment Company is also being carried out on an ongoing basis to ensure its readiness to compete in both national and regional levels, such as through HR competency development and usage improvement of information technology to digitize business processes, data, and cyber security. Those are evidences of the Company’s strong commitment to give significant contribution to PJB and PLN, particularly in terms of the provision of reliable, efficient, and environmentally friendly electricity.
