Responsibilities:

1. Production Setup and Planning:
   • Lead the setup and commissioning of a new paint production facility, including selecting and procuring necessary machinery and equipment.
   • Develop and implement production schedules based on demand forecasts, sales orders, and capacity planning.
   • Collaborate with procurement to secure raw materials (e.g., pigments, resins, solvents) in a timely manner to meet production goals.
2. Process Optimization:
   • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance production output, reduce costs, and minimize waste.
   • Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies to boost productivity.
   • Regularly monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as output rates, quality, and operational efficiency.
3. Quality Assurance and Control:
   • Establish and uphold quality standards, ensuring that all products meet requirements for color consistency, durability, viscosity, and regulatory compliance.
   • Partner with quality assurance teams to develop and implement robust quality control procedures, including safety and performance testing.
   • Address and resolve quality issues, working proactively to meet customer specifications and enhance product reliability.
4. Health and Safety Compliance:
   • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations, especially regarding chemical handling and storage.
   • Develop and enforce safety protocols to protect factory staff and minimize risk of accidents or exposure to hazardous substances.
   • Conduct regular safety audits, training sessions, and compliance checks to foster a safe working environment.
5. Cost Management and Efficiency:
   • Manage the production budget, focusing on cost efficiency without sacrificing product quality.
   • Control raw material, energy, and labor consumption to manage overheads effectively.
   • Introduce cost-saving initiatives such as waste reduction, recycling, and energy-efficient practices.
6. Equipment Maintenance and Downtime Minimization:
   • Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for machinery and equipment to minimize production interruptions.
   • Collaborate with the maintenance department to address breakdowns promptly and minimize downtime.
   • Track equipment performance and anticipate maintenance needs to improve operational reliability.
7. Supply Chain and Inventory Coordination:
   • Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely and consistent delivery of raw materials.
   • Oversee inventory management, ensuring that stock levels for raw materials and finished goods meet production and distribution needs.
   • Manage storage conditions to preserve the quality and safety of both raw materials and finished products.
8. Sustainability and Environmental Responsibility:
   • Champion eco-friendly production practices, including emission reductions, recycling programs, and responsible waste management.
   • Ensure full compliance with environmental regulations, particularly regarding chemical waste handling and disposal.
   • Explore opportunities for sustainable innovations in paint production.
9. Continuous Improvement and Industry Innovation:
   • Stay informed about the latest advancements in the paint manufacturing industry.
   • Lead efforts to develop and introduce new paint formulations, technologies, or production methods that enhance competitiveness.
   • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in production management, preferably within the paint manufacturing or chemical industry.
• Strong background in process optimization methodologies, such as Lean and Six Sigma.
• In-depth understanding of quality control, safety standards, and regulatory requirements specific to paint and chemical production.
• Excellent leadership skills, with experience setting up new production facilities or leading large-scale operational projects.
• Strong analytical, budget management, and problem-solving skills.
