We are seeking a skilled Packaging Engineer to join a leading organisation within the life science industry. The role involves installation and validating Form, Fill Seal machine (in sealing tyvek paper with plastic blister).

Description

Packaging Equipment Design & Validation

• Collaborate with vendors to design and validate packaging machinery, including automated lines, sealing systems, and labeling equipment.
• Develop and execute validation protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ) for new and existing packaging systems.
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis on packaging equipment failures.
• Ensure all packaging systems meet performance, quality, and compliance standards.
• Lead the development of User Requirement Specifications (URS) and technical specifications for packaging equipment.
• Coordinate with production, facilities, and quality teams to install and validate new equipment.
• Initiate change controls, validations, and risk assessments as required for new equipment, materials, or process improvements.
• Ensure all assigned work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Process Optimization & Cost Efficiency

• Optimize packaging and labeling processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for packaging-related issues in manufacturing.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for defects or inefficiencies.
• Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to streamline operations.

Project Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration

• Lead packaging and labeling projects from concept through execution, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
• Work closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Marketing to align packaging with product needs.
• Mentor and support junior engineers and packaging technicians.

Profile

A successful Packaging Engineer should have:

• A degree in engineering, packaging technology, or a related field.
• Experienced in FFS (form, fill, seal) – installation and validation, or other types of packaging equipment with installation and validation experience.
• Expert in DOE – design of experiment and statistical tools to develop the correct sealing parameters.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
