Job Title : Operations Manager – Plantation

Location : Kapuas (Central Kalimantan)

Job Description :

The Operations Manager for the plantation is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plantation operations, including managing day-to-day activities, ensuring high levels of productivity, maintaining safety and environmental standards, optimizing operational efficiency, and achieving business goals. This role will manage teams, resources, and budgets while ensuring compliance with relevant industry regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all plantation activities (planting, irrigation, fertilization, harvesting, etc.).
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve productivity, yield, and quality while minimizing costs.
  • Monitor the performance of operations and implement corrective actions where necessary to meet productivity targets.
  • Ensure proper management of plantation resources, including land, machinery, and labor.
  • Lead and manage a team of plantation workers, supervisors, and support staff.
  • Provide training and development programs to ensure high levels of skill and efficiency among the workforce.
  • Ensure the team operates in alignment with the plantation’s objectives and culture.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on the plantation.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and ensure safety protocols are followed by all staff.
  • Minimize environmental impact and implement sustainable practices across plantation activities.
  • Oversee the procurement and management of materials and resources (seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, equipment, etc.).
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective distribution of resources throughout the plantation.
  • Develop and manage budgets for plantation operations.
  • Control operational costs through effective resource management and process optimization.
  • Prepare financial reports and forecasts for senior management.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on key operational performance metrics such as yield, productivity, costs, and labor efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and business partners.
  • Address any concerns or grievances from stakeholders promptly and professionally.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plantation Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in plantation management, farm operations, or agricultural production (5+ years).
  • Experience in managing large teams, budgets, and operational processes in a plantation environment.
  • Knowledge of crop management, soil health, pest management, and irrigation systems.
  • Familiarity with environmental sustainability practices in agriculture.
  • Placement : Kapuas, Central Kalimantan
