Modern Trade Operations Manager

Location: BSD (Tangerang, Banten)

About the position  

The Modern Trade Operations Manager will bridge the gap between the Head of Modern Trade, who focuses on strategic initiatives, and the operational execution required for day-to-day management of Modern Trade Accounts. This role ensures seamless coordination and execution of strategic plans, driving performance and growth in the modern trade segment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-Day Operations Management:
    • Oversee daily operations of Modern Trade Channels, ensuring efficient and effective execution of sales and marketing activities.
    • Monitor stock levels, ensure product availability, and manage the supply chain to prevent out-of-stock situations.
    • Ensure that all trading agreements with customers are fully implemented.
  • Performance Review and Analysis:
    • Regularly review and analyze the performance of Modern Trade Accounts, identifying key areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement action plans to address performance gaps and enhance overall efficiency.
    • Conduct frequent business review meetings with all customers to assess progress and recalibrate strategies as needed.
  • Distribution Strategy Development:
    • Develop and implement distribution strategies for National Account Modern Trade, aligning with overall business objectives.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize distribution networks and ensure market penetration.
    • Lead negotiations with key accounts to secure favorable business terms and drive growth.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key account managers and store managers.
    • Ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
    • Gather and provide competitive information to headquarters on a regular basis.
    • Ensure excellent customer service is implemented, and service level to customers as the KPI
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and coach the field sales force, setting ambitious targets and monitoring performance.
    • Foster a winning spirit within the team and provide ongoing support to improve skills and capabilities.
    • Ensure streamlined implementation of customer strategies at the point of sales

So, what does it take to be successful in this role? 

Requirements:

  • Minimum S1 (bachelor’s degree) in Marketing, Management, or relevant.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in modern trade management within the FMCG sector
  • Proficiency in English is a must
  • Proven track record of managing key accounts and driving sales performance.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, with strong coaching and mentoring abilities.
