Merchandiser Food :

Grocery & Daily and Dairy

• Manage the Food & Beverage / FMCG and Dairy categories in alignment with the company’s product range and sales targets.

• Identify assortment opportunities and develop new product categories to enhance the product portfolio.

• Source local manufacturers, new suppliers, and new products for listing in AEON Store Regional Area.

• Negotiate terms, pricing, and agreements to maximize sales, profit margins, and inventory turnover.

• Manage and maintain strong relationships with vendors while ensuring effective communication and execution of strategies with store teams, including promotions, clearances, and key focus areas.

• Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly spending reports to optimize category performance.

Perishable

• Oversee the procurement of Fresh Goods (Fruits & Vegetables, Meat & Fish) and FMCG products, both imported and local, in alignment with the company’s product range and sales targets.

• Ensure all Fresh & FMCG products meet quality standards while maintaining competitive pricing.

• Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, build strong partnerships, and negotiate favorable terms to optimize cost efficiency.

• Monitor and manage quality control (QC) processes for procured products to uphold company standards.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stores, ensuring effective communication and execution of strategies, promotions, clearances, and key focus areas.

• Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports on procurement spending and category performance.

Bakery & Delicatessen

• Identify assortment opportunities and develop new product categories, expanding the supplier network beyond existing core products and vendors.

• Lead and manage new product development projects with suppliers, ensuring smooth coordination of packaging design, labeling, and regulatory approvals.

• Negotiate terms, pricing, minimum order quantities, and other key details to optimize sales, profit margins, and inventory management while implementing competitive strategies, promotions, pricing, and activations.

• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, fostering collaboration for long-term partnerships.

• Manage store relationships, ensuring effective communication and execution of strategies, promotions, clearances, and key focus areas.

• Prepare and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track spending and assess category performance.

Merchandiser Non Food (Health & Beauty, Kids Stuff, Dept. Store, Home Appliance)

• Source and secure products by identifying and executing buying opportunities for leading local brands, private label products, and direct-from-factory sourcing.

• Drive strategic category growth by managing and expanding key product categories based on market trends, consumer insights, and data analysis.

• Stay ahead of market trends by conducting competitor research and monitoring industry developments to align with customer preferences.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Operations, and other departments to ensure smooth product flow and execution.

• Optimize product performance by managing assortment, pricing strategies, stock levels, and product visibility to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.

• Coordinate supplier scheduling and ensure accurate procurement and timely product delivery, utilizing third-party logistics when necessary.

• Manage store relationships, ensuring effective communication and execution of strategies, promotions, and clearances to enhance category performance.

What we’re looking for

• Minimum Diploma Degree in any field

• Have experience min. 3 years of experience in merchandiser, purchasing or buyer roles, preferably in the Retail, Supermarket, or Hypermarket industry.

• Strong understanding of FMCG products, Fresh product, market trends, and consumer preferences.

• Strong experience across multiple homeware sub-categories, with an established network of supplier contacts.

• Proven experience as a buyer or in a related role, specifically in the Ready-to-Eat (RTE), Bakery, or Japanese Food (Sushi, etc.) categories.

• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment, working effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Passionate about buying and sourcing, with a strong understanding of compliance considerations and a commitment to securing market-leading deals.

• Adaptable and resilient, able to work under tight deadlines and navigate changes in the dynamic retail industry.

• Excellent negotiation skills, with a track record of establishing and maintaining positive vendor relationships.

• Highly honest, responsible, proactive, and creative, with a strong work ethic.

• Proficiency in English is a must.

• Domicile in Surabaya area is prioritized.
