Job description :

• Review prospects for coverage, gathers data & assesses risk related to the prospect for health insurance
• Calculates & recommends pricing
• Periodic review & report of on going policies
• Create periodic predictive analysis report base on existing reports, existing & future risks trend
• Review insurance applications for compliance and adherence
• Assess clients’ background information and financial status
• Liaise with specialists to gather information and opinions
• Weight loss exposures and determine underwriting alternatives
• Negotiate and define the specific terms of insurance policies with brokers or policyholders
• Keep detailed records of policies underwritten and decisions made
• Balance between mass and homogeneity of risks to achieve predictability of future results.
• Develop and maintain a profitable book of business for the insurer
• Follow applicable insurance laws
• Supervise the claim process, enrolment & fraud investigation
• Coordinating routine data collection on basic & special risks on existing clients
• Prepare TC changes for existing clients based on claim history & trends for the following year
• Maintaining managed care system together with Head of IT
• Periodically together with Head Managed Care, Head IT & CEO develop Managed Care system and reporting dash board to achieve the target loss ratio (or even lower)
• Together with the Head of Managed Care Services, carry out organizational planning and HR development in the claims & underwriter division.

Qualifications :

• Medical Bachelor degree
• Minimum 3-5 years in insurance medical & life underwriting, preferably as manged care underwriter
• Have worked in a company that has managed care products
• Have experience with clients with industrial background
• Preference will be given to those who have experience with health applications
• Hands-on experience with “smart systems”, analytical tools and statistical packages
• (spreadsheets ,SPSS, databases etc)
• Sensible judgement and attention to detail
• Excellent knowledge of insurance policies and ability to relate policy provisions to the loss exposures
• Proven numeracy and statistical skills
• Minimum has AAK certificate, but FSAI will be an advantage
• A level of creativity when it comes to thinking of new sales opportunities (commercial awareness)
• The ability to research and keep on top of developments in the industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build, develop, and manage high performing teams
• Have good knowledge of health care issues and a variety of facility, hospital, or physician office procedures, concepts and practices.
• Demonstrated strategic and creative approaches to identifying and implementing solutions to complex issues.
