Job Summary

The Mandarin Translator is responsible for facilitating communication between Mandarin-speaking and non-Mandarin-speaking personnel at the project site. This role involves oral interpretation, written translation, and cultural mediation to ensure smooth collaboration across teams.

Key Responsibilities

Interpretation:

• Provide real-time verbal translation during meetings, on-site discussions, and training sessions.
• Facilitate effective communication between project managers, workers, and external stakeholders.

Translation:

• Translate documents, reports, and correspondence from Mandarin to [Language] and vice versa.
• Ensure technical and legal accuracy in translated materials.

Cultural Mediation:

• Assist in bridging cultural differences to enhance understanding and collaboration.
• Provide context for idiomatic expressions and cultural nuances.

Administrative Support:

• Assist with document management, including filing and organizing translated materials.
• Support project-related administrative tasks requiring bilingual communication.

On-Site Assistance:

• Accompany teams during inspections, site visits, and client meetings to provide interpretation services.
• Address language barriers during daily operations to ensure project efficiency.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field (preferred).
• Language Proficiency, Fluent in Mandarin 
• Experience:
  • Prior experience as a translator/interpreter, ideally in a construction, engineering, or project-based environment.
  • Familiarity with technical and industry-specific terminology.
• Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or relevant translation tools.

Work Environment

• On-site work at the project location in Cikarang – Kabupaten Bekasi
• May involve extended hours or weekend work depending on project deadlines.
