Job Description:

1. Instruction:

• Plan and deliver effective Mandarin language lessons to students of various age groups and proficiency levels.
• Teach the fundamentals of Mandarin, including pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and writing.
• Develop and implement curriculum and lesson plans, considering the specific needs and goals of each class or student.

2. Classroom Management:

• Maintain a conducive and engaging learning environment in the classroom.
• Manage student behavior, ensuring a positive and respectful atmosphere for learning.

3. Assessment and Evaluation:

• Assess students’ language proficiency through regular tests, assignments, and exams.
• Provide constructive feedback and evaluate student progress.

4. Materials and Resources:

• Select or create appropriate teaching materials, such as textbooks, audiovisual resources, and supplementary materials.
• Keep updated with the latest teaching methodologies and technological tools to enhance language learning.

5. Cultural Insights:

• Introduce students to the culture, history, and customs of Mandarin-speaking regions, fostering a holistic understanding of the language.

6. Individualized Support:

• Offer additional support and tutoring to students who may require extra assistance.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials for students with diverse learning needs.

7. Communication:

• Maintain open and regular communication with students, parents, and school administrators regarding progress, concerns, and expectations.
• Participate in parent-teacher conferences and staff meetings.

8. Professional Development:

• Stay current with developments in language education and seek opportunities for professional development.
• Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions as necessary.

9. Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chinese language, education, or a related field (a master’s degree may be preferred in some institutions).
• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and English (for teaching non-native speakers).
• Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience may be required.
