This is a general position applicable to Manufacturing Plant, PSL, Division, Region, Area or Country. Under broad direction, provides leadership to the logistics organization in a large project or geographical area. Develops and implements logistics strategies in line with Regional and Global initiatives. Responsible for department budget. Negotiates charter agreements that are not covered by the category management. Develops training and certification programs. Oversees efficient movement of goods in compliance with company policies, procedures and local laws, including in-country transportation as well as exportation and importation of goods. Ensures that logs and files are maintained and retained, including all the relevant support documents, for all movements of materials. Communicates and coordinates with all parties involved in relation to materials movements. Provides necessary tools and support to the Logistics Coordinators. Identifies opportunities for improvement of processes. Skills are typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree or certification in foreign trade, international commerce, supply chain, business or similar discipline and/or a minimum of 5 years of related experience. Possession of an International Air Transport Association (IATA) certificate required for international operation.
