We are currently seeking a Legal Manager at ABL (Asian Bulk Logistics).

• Provision of Integrated logistics and transportation solutions for mining and commodities industry, including trans-shipment, barging and stevedoring

Job Description

The Legal Manager will oversee the legal aspects of the Company’s operations, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. This role involves reviewing legal documents and contracts prepared by the Legal Officer to ensure they meet Company standards, as well as managing licensing and operational documents. Additionally, the Legal Manager will supervise the storage of both electronic and physical files within the Legal Compliance Department.  

Included in the scope of responsibilities for the Legal Manager are:

• Manage and supervise the activities of the Legal & Compliance Department based on applicable policies and SOPs.
• Verify the results of the evaluation of the legality aspects of documents related to operational activities and licensing:

1. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of legal documents in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
2. Ensure that the evaluation process has gone through a process that is in accordance with Company standards and procedures.
3. Ensure that the evaluation results report is complete and accurate in accordance with the supporting documents, procedures and company standards.

• Conducting Legal Review:

1. a. Checking the Draft Agreement/Contract originating from a third party for conformity with the Standard Agreement/Contract clauses, the Company’s internal regulations, and the prevailing laws and regulations.
2. b. Contact the relevant User/Department if there are contents of the Draft Agreement/Contract that are not in accordance with the Standard Agreement/Contract clauses, Company internal regulations, and applicable laws and regulations and adjust the Agreement/Contract from a third party with the Company’s Standard Agreement.

Requirements

1. Minimum bachelor’s degree (S1) of Law
2. 3-5 years’ experience as Legal Spv, Senior Staff preferably in mining or shipping industry
3. Proficient in Corporate Secretary & Corporate Legal; Legal & Contract Drafting; Business Corporate; Law & Regulations; License &Compliance.
4. Possesses knowledge in safety competencies, such as: QHSE Management System (ISO 45001); Hazard Identification & Controlling; Marine Safety (ISM Code, ISPS Code) and Emergency Response Management
