As an IT System & Network Administrator, you provide an interface between our local employees and the IT department of FOUR PAWS whenever needed. You are the local contact for all IT matters and are responsible for ensuring that all processes work. You are in charge to support IT projects, technology implementations and must be involved in local provider communication.

Your qualification & experience: 

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other relevant field 
2. Minimum 2 years of proven experience as an IT System Administrator or in a similar role 
3. Proficient in managing both wired and wireless computer networks; expertise in administering the Mikrotik or Ubiquity network ecosystems is advantageous 
4. Relevant professional experience in the operational management of Microsoft infrastructures (Microsoft Cloud/Azure and Microsoft 365) 
5. Excellence knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Windows Server), networking protocols, and hardware components 
6. Ability to work in a diverse team, ability to communicate in English, passive and actively 
7. Possess a passion as well as dedication to wildlife conservation 
8. Willing to travel to Samboja, East Kalimantan, if s/he holds the position, preferably someone who domiciles in Balikpapan or Samarinda

Your contribution will be:

1. Regularly monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal operation of servers, networks, and other IT systems
2. Support of virtualization, storage, and backup infrastructure, Microsoft 365 cloud solutions 
3. Responsibility for the proper handling of the server room 
4. Having an overview of the IT hardware and software on-site 
5. Emergency plans for internet outages, power outages, etc 
6. Strong cooperation with the IT department of FOUR PAWS (coordinating for hardware and software purchases, regular IT calls, IT documentation of the site, contacting the IT department first in case of IT problems, or outside of service hours, the external IT support or responsible providers, etc.) 
7. Disposing of old hardware and hard drives in coordination with the FOUR PAWS IT Department 
8. Setting up an ergonomic workplace 
9. Making sure network components, such as switches or Wi-Fi access points outside the server room, are inaccessible 
10. Ensuring that new employees are properly trained in the use of the IT facilities
11. Installing new software using the local admin credentials when remote installation is not possible or not feasible 
12. Manage software updates, patches, and security fixes to ensure that systems are up-to-date and protected against known vulnerabilities
