What you’ll be doing day to day:

• Lead and inspire a team of interior design co-workers and challenge them to strengthen the uniqueness of the IKEA identity in range presentation and home-furnishing solutions in room settings, homes, vignettes, and sales support areas.

• Lead a team of interior design co-workers in creating the store Showroom matrix that reflects a wide variety of styles, living situations, and price levels that create a good tempo with distinct visual impressions and be responsible for gathering and translating insights from home visit interviews into locally relevant, functional, aesthetic and commercial home furnishing solution that exceed customer expectations and reflect home furnishing the IKEA way.

• Secure that interior designers execute home furnishing solutions with high quality, simplicity, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency using global tools and best practices and maintain deep and up-to-date knowledge about home furnishing, retailing and trends in order to support the Home Furnishing & Retail Design Manager to facilitate workshop that generate creative direction that inspire and surprise visitors with strong visual impressions.

• Actively support the development of the department action plan with interior design initiatives that are focused on growing the business and support the long-term profitability and execute agreed plans together with the Home Furnishing & Retail Design team and other functions and act quickly to exploit commercial opportunities and ensure the Interior Designers understand the impact of the Home Furnishing & Retail Design actions on the financial result.

• Ensure the team always keep visitors in mind, disruption in minimize and communicate changes when working on the shop floor and be responsible for the recruitment and competence development of Interior Designers and secure successor planning by constantly searching for potential candidates.

• Actively contribute in the national Interior Design Managers network and share national directions and global tools with the Interior Design specialists in the store.

We want you to be a person who:

• Possess an interior design-based education, Experience of working with interior design in a fast retail environment.

• Proven success in leading creative processes and creating a trustful environment., experience in problem solving, demonstrate clear communication skills (in English) and understanding how to lead creative processes and how to build interior design competence.

• A natural ability to move smoothly from assessing the bigger picture to seeing the small details and deep knowledge on how to present the range which reflect variety of living situations, price levels and style groups.

• Deep understanding of local market and the outcome of market research and understanding interior design and trends that influence home furnishing, the work method for presenting the IKEA range, IKEA concept and IKEA brand objectives, IKEA mechanical sales system, global tools and solutions.

• Good analytical and strategic skills and the ability to steer the store business over the short, mid and long term.

• Ability to prioritize and organize work and the work of others in order to make the most efficient use of time available and meet agreed goals and deadlines and ability to set and implement action plans, set expectations, provide clear direction and follow up goals.

• Computer proficient with knowledge and experience of using relevant software (e.g. SketchUp and Revit)
