Duties
The incumbent serves as IT support for all Jakarta and branch office operations. The Library of Congress, Jakarta does not subscribe to the Information Resources Management cost center under ICASS making it independent of Embassy IT operations. Although closely aligned the Information Technology Services Directorate of the Library of Congress, Washington, the overseas office operates their own budgets and IT infrastructures.
The IT Section (with three IT specialists) is responsible for all IT activities for the Library of Congress in Jakarta and its four branch offices (55 LES and 1 American DH). These activities include procurement, contracts, installation and configuration of network infrastructure, hardware and software, security of IT assets, training, helpdesk services and support of the branch-offices which currently maintain VPN-secure connections to the LOC-Jakarta LAN which includes its branch officers. The complex LOC-Jakarta IT environment includes but is not limited to systems running on Linux and Windows platforms, LAN with 100 nodes and 10 servers.
The incumbent in this position, working independently, is responsible for ensuring trouble-free and secure operation of desktops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, other peripherals as well as file and print services in LOC-Jakarta and its branch offices in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, and Yangon. Provides LAN and WAN operational support by performing various LAN and WAN maintenance and troubleshooting tasks such as user account management and connectivity problems. Incumbent is the primary user support for OFORS.
Performs the full range of help desk functions for staff in Jakarta and branch offices as well as staff on travel status. Is responsible for manage IT supplies, inventory, and ordering IT goods. Is responsible for training in areas of his responsibility for staff in LOC-Jakarta and remote training for staff in branch offices.

Qualifications and Evaluations
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible LAN troubleshooting, Windows workstation, Windows servers, Linux which includes managing wide area networks, multi-user, and in an environment with a large number of various locations and work areas.
KNOWLEDGE : Expertise level of knowledge of Local Area Network, Wide Area Network and wiring principles. Advanced knowledge of the latest Windows-based workstation, MS. Office Suite of programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint) is required. A good working knowledge of Server operating system (Windows and Linux), Exchange, editing software and computer security practice.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Self-discipline/motivation, technical and customer service skills to perform computer support functions. Troubleshooting and analyzing skills in order to troubleshoot day to day problems related to client PC’s and peripherals. Good written and oral communication skills in order to support users in local as well as remote offices. Ability to relate to Library of Congress programs to everyday work of professional staff.
LANGUAGE: Fluent speaking/reading/writing English is required. This may be tested.

Benefits and Other Info
Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Jakarta, Indonesia, may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
