About the role

We are seeking an experienced HSE Engineer to join our team in Palu, Central Sulawesi on a contract basis. As an HSE Engineer – Mining, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety and environmental compliance of our mining operations. With a focus on risk mitigation and continuous improvement, you will be responsible for developing and implementing robust safety procedures and protocols to protect our workers and the surrounding environment.

What you’ll be doing

Conducting comprehensive site inspections and audits to identify potential health, safety and environmental hazards
Developing and implementing safety policies, procedures and training programs to mitigate risks
Building strong relationships with customers to understand their HSES requirements and ensure alignment with the operational goals
Monitoring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and regulations
Investigating incidents and near-misses, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to promote a strong safety culture across the organisation
Preparing detailed reports and presenting findings to senior management
Ensuring the efficient and compliant disposal of waste and hazardous materials
to perform any other entrusted & requested by Management

What we’re looking for

Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
At least 5 years of experience in HSES management, with a strong background in the mining or heavy industry sectors.
Strong working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and regulations
Fluency in English both written and verbal
Proven track record of developing and implementing effective HSE management systems
Excellent problem-solving, analytical and decision-making skills
Outstanding communication and stakeholder management capabilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Willing to be place at Palu, Central Sulawesi
