The Head of Treasury in a fintech organization is a senior leadership role responsible for managing and optimizing the company’s funding and treasury operations. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization’s liquidity, managing financial risks, and overseeing relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, investors, and financial partners.

Description

• Develop and implement a comprehensive funding strategy to ensure the fintech organization has access to sufficient capital to support its operations, growth initiatives, and product development.
• Monitor and manage the company’s liquidity position, ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet operational requirements, payment obligations, and short-term financial needs.
• Prepare accurate cash flow forecasts to project the organization’s future funding needs and optimize cash utilization.
• Evaluate various financing options, including debt and equity, and negotiate funding terms with lenders and investors to secure favorable funding arrangements.
• Oversee day-to-day treasury operations, including cash management, payment processing, and bank account management.
• Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including interest rate risk, foreign exchange risk, and counterparty risk. Implement risk mitigation strategies and hedge transactions as needed.
• Make informed decisions on short-term and long-term investments to optimize returns on idle funds while managing risk.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and investors to facilitate funding opportunities and potential strategic partnerships.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements related to funding, treasury operations, and investment activities.
• Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to provide accurate and timely financial information, including funding status, cash flow projections, and investment performance.
• Evaluate and implement treasury management systems and financial technology solutions to streamline treasury operations and enhance efficiency.
• Contribute to the overall strategic planning and decision-making process, providing insights into financial risks and opportunities.

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CTP) is a plus.
• Extensive experience in treasury management, funding, or corporate finance within the fintech industry or related financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of financial markets, investment instruments, and funding structures.
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to funding and treasury management in the fintech sector.
• Proven ability to optimize funding costs and manage liquidity effectively.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess financial risks and make strategic decisions.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills to engage with banks, investors, and other financial partners.
• Familiarity with treasury management systems and financial technology solutions.
• Leadership experience, with the ability to manage and mentor a team of treasury professionals.
• Ethical and detail-oriented approach, with a commitment to compliance and risk management.
