Job Description:

• Develop and implement sustainable practices: Design and execute sustainable farming practices and strategies that minimize environmental impact, optimize resource utilization, and promote biodiversity conservation.
• Compliance and regulations: Stay updated with relevant local and international environmental regulations, certifications, and standards applicable to shrimp farming. Ensure compliance with these requirements and guide farmers in achieving and maintaining certification.
• Environmental impact assessment: Conduct assessments and audits to evaluate the environmental impact of shrimp farming operations, including water quality, habitat preservation, waste management, and energy efficiency.
• Stakeholder engagement: Collaborate with shrimp farmers, industry associations, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to foster partnerships, knowledge sharing, and consensus-building on sustainability initiatives.
• Training and capacity building: Develop training programs and educational materials to raise awareness among farmers and industry personnel about sustainable farming practices, best management techniques, and emerging technologies.
• Research and innovation: Stay abreast of the latest trends, research, and innovations in sustainable shrimp farming practices. Identify and promote the adoption of new technologies, techniques, and methodologies to improve sustainability performance.
• Data collection and analysis: Establish monitoring systems to collect and analyze data related to key sustainability metrics, such as water usage, energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste generation. Use this data to track progress, identify areas for improvement, and report on sustainability performance.
• Reporting and communication: Prepare regular reports on sustainability initiatives, progress, and outcomes. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders through presentations, workshops, seminars, and industry events.
• Risk management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to sustainability in shrimp farming operations and develop mitigation strategies.
• Continuous improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by evaluating the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives, identifying opportunities for optimization, and implementing corrective actions.

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, aquaculture, agriculture, or a related field. A master’s degree is desirable.
• Proven experience in sustainability management, preferably in the aquaculture or agriculture sector.
• In-depth knowledge of sustainable farming practices, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
• Familiarity with shrimp farming practices and challenges specific to Indonesia.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make evidence-based decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Self-motivated and proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Fluency in English and Indonesian, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel to shrimp farming regions within Indonesia as required.
