Our client is planning to hire Head of Legal & Compliance for South East Asia region to lead all aspects of legal & compliance operations for their multifinance entity.

Our client is a leading auto-tech financial services provider in Southeast Asia. It has achieved the top position in Indonesia and is expanding across the region. The company has regional HQ based out of Singapore and has operational presence across Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Thailand with plans to expand in rest of the SEA.

Description

1. Compliance Management:

– Develop, implement, and oversee the company’s compliance program, ensuring adherence to local and international laws and regulations.

– Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the company’s operations.

– Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating risks.

2. Legal Counsel:

– Provide legal advice and guidance to all business units, ensuring that all activities are conducted within the framework of applicable laws and regulations.

– Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.

– Represent the company in legal proceedings and manage external legal counsel when necessary.

3. Policy Development:

– Develop and update compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines to align with changing regulatory environments.

– Educate and train employees on compliance policies and procedures to foster a culture of compliance throughout the organization.

4. Ethical Standards:

– Promote and enforce ethical behavior and compliance with the company’s code of conduct.

– Investigate and report any suspected violations of laws, regulations, or company policies.

5. Reporting and Communication:

– Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.

– Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors.

6. Team Management:

– Lead and manage a team of legal and compliance professionals, providing guidance and mentorship.

– Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the department.

Profile

– Bachelor’s degree in Law; Master’s degree in Law or related field preferred.

– Minimum of 10-13 years of experience in legal and compliance roles, with a focus on the multifinance/other financial services industry.

– Strong knowledge of Indonesian financial regulations and international compliance standards.

– Proven experience in managing compliance programs and legal functions within a multinational organization.

– Excellent leadership and people management skills.

– Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

– Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in complex situations.

– Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both written and spoken.
