This senior leadership position is analogous to a Head of Business or Business Director, responsible for overseeing and driving the entire business unit comprising commercial, operations, and business development functions within the data center division.

Client Details

The client is a large group with comprehensive IT solutions within their portfolio, this includes Data Center facilities, Telco, Solutions, Tower and Satellite, among others. Currently looking for a Head of Business for their Data Center business unit to lead the development, optimization, and management of a comprehensive platform leveraging existing and future data center assets to deliver exceptional value to our clients and stakeholders.

Description

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and execute a cohesive business strategy in alignment with the company’s overall goals and vision.
• Provide strategic guidance to the commercial, operations, and business development teams, ensuring clear objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics are established and met.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across the business unit.

Commercial Excellence:

• Oversee commercial activities, including pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and client relationship management to ensure revenue growth and profitability.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for expansion and differentiation.

Operational Excellence:

• Lead the operations team in ensuring efficient and reliable data center operations, including maintenance, security, and compliance.
• Develop and implement operational processes and procedures to maximize efficiency, minimize downtime, and optimize resource utilization.

Business Development:

• Identify and pursue strategic partnerships, alliances, and business opportunities to expand the data center’s footprint and market presence.
• Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies, to drive mutually beneficial collaborations.

Asset Utilization and Platform Creation:

• Assist development of new data center projects and evaluate existing data center assets and infrastructure to identify opportunities for optimization and expansion.
• Design and execute a comprehensive platform that integrates existing assets, cutting-edge technologies, and innovative solutions to provide a seamless and robust service offering to clients.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Build and lead a high-performing team by fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Mentor and develop team members, providing coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities.

Financial Management:

• Develop and manage the budget for the data center business unit, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining cost efficiency.
• Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and take corrective actions as necessary.

Reporting and Communication:

• Provide regular updates to the executive leadership team and the board on the performance, opportunities, and challenges within the data center division.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, representing the data center’s interests and fostering positive relationships.

Profile

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
• Proven track record of over 15 years in senior leadership roles, with at least 5 years in leadership positions for a data center platform. Managing multi-functional teams in a complex business environment.
• Strong experience in data center project operations, technology platforms, and IT infrastructure and Services, Cloud Migration and Managed Services.
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing business strategies that drive growth and profitability.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset and the ability to drive change and innovation.
• Financial acumen and experience in budget management.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in the data center industry.
