Exciting opportunity in a new Café / Bar / Bistro in Uluwatu (Bali)

Analog Uluwatu is a busy start-up café / bar looking to expand and needs an experienced GM to take it to the next level. 

The Business 

Open since June, Analog is a Café during the day and a Café / Bar / Bistro at night. It has a busy daytime trade but evenings are quiet and we’ve yet to start online (GoJek, Grab, Ghost) and outbound (catering and deli). 

The F&B offering is healthy and modern but casual and affordable. The Vibe is creative based on music, art and design with an underlying surf theme. The customers are mostly foreign, split between local community and tourists. The team is young, energetic and fun.

• 20M turnover / day 
• 17 staff 

The Role 

The primary aim of the GM role is manage the day to day operations (except marketing, music and investor relations). The secondary aim is to grow the revenues from 20M to 30, 40, 50M IDR / day. 

You will work closely alongside the Directors (2) and Accountants (2). The Directors will drive Marketing and handle Investor relations. The Accountant and Book-keeper will handle financials. 

The team is small and venue is relatively small but the job role is broad, covering a lot of different areas: 

• Admin 
• Legal 
• Accounting (H)
• Kitchen (H)
• Bar (H)
• Front of House (H)
• Human Resources 
• Maintenance 

* H = department head

The Person 

Someone that can introduce systems and processes, step back and manage. Ideally with a lot of F&B experience that can bring proven systems and processes from larger established venues they’ve worked. The goal is to build a team and create a system that can run itself. 

Someone who loves people. True hospitality is all about people. On the staff side, teaching and mentoring but also doing and leading by example. Stepping in to cover when needed and acting as a role model, inside and outside of work. On the customer side, making people feel special and looked after. No matter what the circumstances. 

Someone who is self-motivated and driven, wanting to progress in their career and earn a western salary. As a start-up business, there is a lot of growth in the next 12-24 months and a lot of potential for career advancement. 

The Package 

We may be a small venue, but pay the same as much larger, established venues. This is because we don’t plan to stay small for long. We believe in paying well and working hard. 

• Base salary + Service + Benefits; for manging to day to day operations effectively. 
• Profit Share = for growing gross revenues to KPI targets.
