PINZ

Indonesia-Aotearoa New Zealand Geothermal Energy Programme / Kegiatan Program Kerjasama Panas Bumi Indonesia-Aotearoa (PINZ), is funded by the Aotearoa-New Zealand (Ao-NZ) International Development Cooperation through New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). PINZ will provide technical assistance and capacity building to support development of Indonesia’s geothermal energy (GE) sector.

PINZ will be delivered under a Partnership Arrangement (PA) with the Directorate General of New, Renewable, and Energy Conservation (EBTKE), MFAT’s Lead Partner within the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) that is responsible for all renewable energy sector planning, regulation and oversight, as the primary partner for PINZ. PINZ will consolidate and provide all of MFAT’s International Development Cooperation support to the Indonesian geothermal sector over the next five years. All aspects of PINZ will be delivered and managed by the Programme Implementation Unit (PIU) based in Jakarta.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice to the PINZ management team to ensure PINZ programming reflects the core principles and priorities of MFAT’s GSI policy
• Lead the development of a Community Engagement and GSI Action Plan
• Implement communication and/or GSI activities as stated in the Community Engagement and GSI Action Plans
• Ensure GSI is embedded in the programme planning, implementation, theory of change, and integrated into the MERL framework
• Develop tools and implement capacity building activities
• Lead engagement and foster positive and mutually beneficial relationships with a wide range of sector stakeholders

Selection criteria

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. gender studies, sociology, economics, international development, international relations)
• Minimum 7 years proven GSI management experience for a donor-funded development programme
• Demonstrated experience contributing GSI inputs to meet donor requirements
• Demonstrated experience in building networks between the programme and civil society organisation and government agencies in Indonesia
• Experience in working in areas promoting women’s leadership and empowerment
• Experience in the consideration of the commercial, legal, political, cultural, social, and environmental issues and challenges related to the development of geothermal energy would be an advantage
• Fluency in written and spoken English
