About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Furniture Technical to join our team at William E. Connor & Associates LTD’ in East Java. As a Furniture Technical, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and functionality of our furniture products. This is a full-time position based in Surabaya, offering the opportunity to contribute to the strategic objectives of our growing organization.

What you’ll be doing

  • Conduct inspections and quality control checks on incoming furniture components and finished products
  • Identify and resolve technical issues or defects, collaborating with the production team to implement corrective actions
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation related to quality assurance processes
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the manufacturing team, ensuring efficient and effective production
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in furniture manufacturing
  • Assist in the development and testing of new furniture designs and prototypes
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our production processes and quality standards

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience as a Furniture Technical or similar role in the furniture manufacturing industry
  • Strong technical aptitude and knowledge of furniture design, construction, and quality control principles
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Proficient in the use of relevant tools and equipment used in furniture production

Our founder, William E. Connor Sr., served as a trade attaché in the administration of General Douglas MacArthur in Japan after World War II. Recognizing Japan’s enormous peacetime potential, Connor opened a purchasing office in Tokyo in 1949 dedicated to representing the interests of non-Japanese clients in Japan.

Connor overcame trade barriers, currency volatility, wars and political instability while growing his business in Asia. Rather he provided a wholly transparent logistics framework that formed the foundation of long term sourcing partnerships.
