The Finance Controller will report directly to the CFO and manage a small team of supervisors thus you will need to be hands on at work. This is a key role for the organization as you will be expected to provide accurate financial information to management for decision making and to safeguard the assets and minimize risk of the company.

Description

  1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making and financial planning.
  1. Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to establish financial goals and objectives.
  • Develop robust forecasting models to project future financial performance and cash flow requirements.
  • Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management.
  1. Cash Flow Management:
  • Manage cash flow by monitoring daily operations, forecasting cash needs, and ensuring funds are available for essential activities.
  • Implement effective cash flow controls and recommend improvements to optimize liquidity.
  1. Financial Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Oversee the preparation of financial documents for audits and liaise with external auditors.
  1. Financial Process Improvement:
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Streamline reporting procedures and implement automation solutions where applicable.
  1. Team Management and Development:
  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance and support in achieving departmental goals.
  • Foster a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes that may impact the company’s financial stability.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
  • 5years of experience in similiar position.
  • Proven experience in retail or a related industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
