Position Summary:

The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the business. This includes managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, compliance, and internal controls. The role plays a key part in strategic planning and decision-making, ensuring the financial health of the organization across domestic operations, warehousing, and international/export sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with the support of our Accounting Firm in Australia

  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.

  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with department heads.

  • Monitor performance against budget, analyse variances, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses for planning and risk management.

Cost & Inventory Accounting

  • Oversee inventory accounting, stock reconciliations, and valuation processes.

  • Collaborate with warehouse operations to ensure accurate reporting of inventory movements and costs.

  • Monitor and improve cost accounting systems to reflect the true cost of goods sold and product costings, and margin

  • Champion cost-saving initiatives within the business

Export Sales & FX Management

  • Manage foreign currency transactions and hedging strategies where applicable.

  • Monitor international receivables and work closely with logistics and sales teams on export billing, documentation, and collections.

  • Understand international taxation and duties to optimize export profitability.

Cash Flow & Working Capital

  • Forecast and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and support operational needs.

  • Optimize working capital through effective management of payables, receivables, and inventory.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and mentor financial assistant & boarder operations team.

  • Foster a high-performance culture within the HO team.

  • Promote continuous improvement and professional development.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, statutory obligations, and audit requirements.

  • Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.

  • Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CA preferred).

  • Minimum 7–10 years of progressive financial management experience.

  • Experience in consumer goods, distribution, or manufacturing industries (ideally Multinational)

  • Proven experience in inventory-heavy and export-driven environments.

  • Proficient in accounting systems (e.g., Xero).

  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Extensive & Proficient in English is a must.
