ROLES
As Accounting & Finance Manager based in Jakarta, you will be the go-to person for Accounting, Tax, Financial Reporting, Audit, CorpSec, Financial Operations management (such as Accounts Payable etc.), and other ad-hoc Finance business support matters for assigned entities across six markets (Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, India, and Japan). In this high-visibility role, you will report to the Group Finance Manager and will be responsible for:
Accountable for managing the day-to-day relationship with our professional services partner firm in the assigned markets and ensuring the timeliness, accuracy, and quality of their deliverables to Spenmo (such as the monthly financial statements, book-keeping, tax compliance etc.)
Implement, enforce, monitor, and evaluate operational efficiency and effectiveness of internal accounting and control policies and procedures laid out by the Group Finance Manager to provide reasonable assurance on the integrity of accounting and financial data, and the safeguarding of assets
Reporting
Periodic Closing: Prepare timely monthly/quarterly/annual closing Financial Statements as well as monthly management accounts – utilising the deliverables from the professional services partner firm – in accordance with the laid-out policies, procedures, and applicable accounting standards. Assist the Group Finance Manager with consolidation
Prepare quarterly reports to regulators and respond to ad-hoc requests from investors under the supervision of Group Finance Manager and Head of Finance
Assist in comparing historical results against budgets and forecasts, and performing variance analysis
Work with the Finance Executive to ensure accurate daily Accounts Payable processing and Bank Reconciliation etc. Check and validate all external and internal payments while ensuring policy compliance, accuracy, and legitimacy, and timeliness
Accounts Receivable: validate PayOps and Data team’s billing figures
Audit: Under the guidance of Group Accounting Manager and Head of Finance, coordinate annual close with auditors and participate in the preparation of audit including all memos
Tax: Review all tax filings and work with our professional service partner firm to ensure full tax compliance in each of the markets
Responsible for preparing monthly listing, schedules, and intercompany matrix
Serve as the primary point of contact for local teams on Finance & Accounting matters
Act as a Finance business partner to country management teams
Recommended actions to sharpen business decisions and mitigate risk, ensure accounting/financial/tax implications are considered in decision making, and providing information and documents as needed
Partner with legal, compliance and product team as needed
Build and maintain relationships with external advisors, auditors, and government investment agencies to facilitate business growth and continuity
SOUND LIKE YOU?
You are a Qualified Chartered Accountant or Certified Public Accountant, and a registered member of either IAI or IAPI
You have a minimum of 8 years of experience in general accounting function and commercial finance with expertise in FRS
You started in a Big 4 Accounting firm where you built sound knowledge of local accounting and tax standards, and
You have spent the last two years or more in a similar in-house finance role (must have) with a Fintech, or Payments company, or Start-up, or a regulated Financial Services business operating in multiple Asian markets
You have experience managing relationships with professional services firms providing accounting and tax services to the in-house teams
Hands-on experience and expertise in Oracle NetSuite (accounting software), excellent advanced MS-Excel and modeling skills, and good knowledge of PowerPoint and Google Suite
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; good command of both spoken and written English
Bias for action and a strong sense of responsibility with the ability to deliver critical deliverables for senior stakeholders under tight timelines with 100% accuracy
Meticulous, organized, and strong attention to details
Experience in Treasury Operations and FP&A is a plus
