Job Description Summary
As a Fan Cell Painter, you will be required to carry out day to day painting works, know how to work and operate a paint booth and perform paint equipment autonomous maintenance activity. Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Hands on experience in painting and able to assure quality of end condition requirement in accordance with the Engine Shop Manual (thickness, smoothness, etc)

• Should have in depth knowledge on paint characteristics and usage, relate type of paint and environmental impact on the paint quality.

• Experience and knowledge in paint preparation, handling and painting related processes.

• Able to interpret and understand manual requirement and follow step by step process.

• Perform repairs on engine parts.

• Autonomous Maintenance and good practices on machines and tools in the work area.

• Meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost target of the cell

• Meet QCWI, shop quality requirements and show accountability in day-to-day job.

• Perform repair tasks according to manual to complete the work scope instruction.

• Proficient in using ERP system, SAP, or operating a paint booth and familiar with measuring tools.

• Determines the repair-ability of parts that do not meet the applicable requirements.

• Generates applicable documentation and purchase order for the repair of unserviceable parts.

• Records the measurement results on the appropriate documentation.

• Play an active role in Lean and continuous improvement activities across shop.

• Be flexible and perform task assigned by area leader on daily basis.

• Be a team player and able to integrate into a team to work on kaizens.

• Able to setup a paint booth and paint equipment and know-how to operate.

• Able to perform painting of parts independently.

• In depth knowledge on painting activities in a paint booth.

• Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or vernier calipers.

• Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.

• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.

• Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments

• Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.

• Perform work as assigned and in the manner as specified ensuring that all quality and safety requirements and practices are met.

• Ensure that repair tools are properly maintained, utilized, and promptly returned in good condition after use.

• Carry out day to day preventive or predictive maintenance activity of paint booth and paint tools at the respective work area.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Diploma in Aviation or Engineering related fields.

• Minimum 5 years working experience in performing painting on aircraft / engine parts or general repair and able to perform dimensional inspection of engine parts.

• Ability to read, understand and interpret ESM, AMM, Repair manual and other applicable manuals.

• Knowledgeable and proficient in the proper use of precision measuring equipment such as vernier calipers, gauges, etc.

• Working knowledge of the functions and operation of the equipment while performing repair.

• Proficient in technical writing.

• Candidates must have good eyesight.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams, learn new skills quickly and share knowledge with colleagues

• Able to mentor trainees and impart repair and machining skills/knowledge.
